Our Warranty - Manufacturer Coverage + Father and Son Workmanship
Your AC warranty from Father and Son comes in two layers: the manufacturer's parts warranty on the equipment we install, and our own workmanship warranty on the installation itself.
Two layers of coverage - parts and labor.
Together they cover both the parts and the labor that keep your system running.
Manufacturer warranty - the parts
The manufacturer's parts warranty on the equipment we install, registered at the time of install.
Workmanship warranty - the installation
Our own warranty on how the system was put in - the labor, not the parts.

Layer 1 · The parts
Manufacturer Warranty - The Parts
The manufacturer warranty covers the physical components of your system - the compressor, coil, and internal parts. Across the eight brands we install, many residential systems are eligible for up to a 10-year limited parts warranty when the equipment is registered properly. Exact terms vary by brand, model, installation details, and registration timing.
Registration is the part most homeowners miss. Manufacturers generally only honor the full term when the equipment is registered shortly after installation. Skip it and coverage can quietly default to a shorter base period - so a system you paid full price for ends up carrying partial coverage through no fault of your own.
Father and Son registers your equipment for you at the time of install. You don't chase a serial number, fill out a portal, or track a deadline - we file the registration as part of closing out the job, so your manufacturer coverage is locked in from day one.
One limit to understand up front: a manufacturer parts warranty covers the part, not the labor to diagnose and replace it. That labor is where our workmanship warranty - and our Goodman handling - comes in.
Layer 2 · The installation
Workmanship Warranty - The Installation
Our workmanship warranty covers the installation itself - the quality of the work, not the manufacturer's parts. It stands behind how the system was put in: the connections, the line set, the duct tie-ins, the refrigerant charge, and the final commissioning. If something we installed fails because of how it was installed, that is on us to make right.
This is the layer most homeowners never think to ask about - and the one that separates a clean install from a callback. A perfect compressor still fails early if it was charged wrong or tied into leaking ducts, and no manufacturer warranty covers that.
Your installation is backed by our workmanship warranty. The current workmanship term and exact coverage are listed in your installation paperwork, and we confirm them with you before you approve the job.
Goodman Warranty Handling
Father and Son is an authorized Goodman dealer. On Goodman systems we install, we register the manufacturer warranty and help handle eligible Goodman warranty labor claims when coverage applies. Warranty parts and labor rules are separate, and exact coverage depends on Goodman's current terms, the installed equipment, registration status, and the nature of the claim. We explain the warranty path before work begins and document the coverage in writing.
For the full detail on our Goodman authorization and how a claim runs end to end, see our Goodman AC page.
What's Not Covered
No warranty covers everything, and we would rather you know the limits up front. Coverage generally does not extend to:
Keeping up with scheduled maintenance is the single biggest thing you can do to keep both layers of coverage intact.
